Charleston Riverdogs

Charleston Riverdogs

I was inspired to look through some of the negatives of a few long-ago assignments I’d shot.  This particular shoot in Charleston at Joseph P. Riley Jr. Park with the Riverdogs was so clear in my memory, although it was over a decade ago.

YM magazine had sent me on assignment to capture players poised to make their Major League debut. After the shoot that evening, I was able to watch them play with the writer from the magazine.

To this day, I love watching minor league games as well as dirt track auto racing. And looking back on the times I’ve gotten to photograph them, the thrill for me is capturing people in pursuit of their dream.
