Inside the Wynn’s studio kitchen, this fashion inspired shoot had me surrounded with magnificently vibrant cakes. Pastry Chef Flora Aghababyan’s creative process was mesmerizing to watch as she and her assistants worked in sync, handling all the different pastry elements with gentle precision. Using a paintbrush, she applied a gilded finish to the fondant as I captured her artistic and delicate process.
This shoot was inspired by fashion. There were magnificent cakes of inspiration all around the studio kitchen. As she and her assistants worked in sync, I moved carefully around to capture all their steps. She handled the different pastry elements with a gentle precision. I loved watching her use the paintbrush to apply a gilded finish to the fondant.
This overhead perspective of the paintbrush used to paint the delicate fondant is a type of artistic process shot that I love capturing. The way she had the different elements arranged for assembly allowed for interesting and clean compositions.
